Westley started thatching at the age of 18 straight from school after
gaining GCSE A* qualifications in art and design.
During his 4 year apprenticeship with a well known and respected local
Master Thatcher he gained City & Guilds qualifications at the national
thatching collage run by the Countryside Commission gaining admission as an
apprentice member of Rutland and Leicestershire thatchers association.
Since establishing his own business he is now qualified to level 2 National Vocations Qualifications and
is also a full Master member of the National
Society of Master Thatchers and a full Master
member of the Rutland & Leicestershire Master Thatchers Association with
many outstanding thatched roofs in his portfolio (see photo's) he is now
training his own work force.
He is proud to be the holder of the
prestigious National Thatcher of the Year award 2004 - 2005
As the firm has expanded so has the area covered, he now has his own storage
facility in Northamptonshire to ensure central availability of the most
suitable materials for your roofing needs, and will now work
wherever his work takes him, world wide or in the United Kingdom.
